While Marc recovers from his injuries, Scarlet recounts her life, from her Father, to her Husband, to her Son. This all makes her angry and she tips her bedside table out of rage. However, the table had candles burning on it and her room quickly goes up in flames. Marc leaves his bed, against Marlene's wishes, and vows to end the madness.
